As the new principal of Carson City Lower Elementary, it has been my pleasure and honor to become a member of this great school community. Carson City-Crystal Area School District is a district where families know one another, teachers have low turnover rate, and parents know their children are safe. During my first few weeks in the district, I have been welcomed by many and have indeed found a strong working relationship among the dedicated staff, parents, and community where there is a focus on what is best for educating the whole child. Hence, I am eager to continue this positive school culture and to build a strong connection with your family.
Before coming to Carson City-Crystal Area School District, my professional career has been spent in the St. Johns Public Schools and Ashley Community Schools. I held the positions of acting administrator, teacher, instructional coach, chair of school improvement, and director of an after school at-risk program. My past experiences have shaped my core beliefs and philosophy of education. I believe that every child can learn when given high expectations, and through best practices, students will achieve these expectations. In addition, one of the most important aspects of my work as Carson City's principal is building solid relationships with students, families, and staff members. It is very important to me to be in the hallways, classrooms, and on the playground getting to know your children.
During the course of the year, it is my desire to work together to provide the students of Carson City Lower Elementary the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be outstanding citizens who will be a positive influence on their community and have a drive to continuously learn. I look forward to working with you and your child for many years to come.
