Teaching is my passion and has been since I was a child.  I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher.  In high school, I had a wonderful math teacher, Mr. Bruce Tasker.  With his encouragement, I went to college, and became a high school math teacher.

I graduated from Carson City-Crystal High School.  After high school, I attended Montcalm Community College where I earned my associate's degree.  After MCC, I became a student at Alma College.  I graduated from Alma College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Teaching Secondary Mathematics and Science.  I was hired at CC-C in the spring of 1995 and have been teaching here since.  In 2002, I earned my Master of Arts Degree from Central Michigan University.
I have two children, Tristen and Bryce.  Tristen is a senior this year and Bryce is in 8th grade.

My goal in life is to have every student leave my class feeling they have learned something and feel more positive about their own education.  I look forward to the "aha" moments the students have, that moment when something makes sense to them that didn't before.  Those are the moments I look forward to.

I am a lifetime student.  I continuously seek professional development and college courses that will help improve my content and curriculum knowledge, and instructional strategies.
